Steve Nimmons - Mindmap

Well, September 2009, Technology Mashup first came into being in early 2008. Lots of experimentation in Social Media has resulted, and 3 months ago I decided to take down both my stevenimmons.org and subdomain blog(blog.stevenimmons.org) for some well needed restructuring.

In the interim I removed quite a number of Web2.0 presences, consolidating on the ones you see at the top of this blog. Having experimented like crazy for almost 15 months I thought it time to distill the learning and come back with something more beautifully formed and subject specific.

I’ve ported out a very small subset of content from Technology Mashup of old, and decided to moth ball (permanently) the Circumference of a Moose blog that I was running on a subdomain. This was a great decision as it freed up a lot of time.

I’ve recut Technology Mashup onto Word Press (from Drupal). No real technology point here except Word Press is a lot handier if you just want to run a blogging platform.

In terms of understanding time pressures and topics of interest I decided a little while ago to create a ‘Mind Map of self’. This proved to be a really useful and interesting exercise and it let me see the important subject links and their interconnections. It also threw up some interesting motivation connections and stimulated some ideas for Social Network technology that I will write about further.

For now, I’ve re-worked the ‘about me‘ page and added a new Gallery.

In creating particularly the ‘about me text’ – and yes boring old yesteryear search engines still need to be fed text I thought I’d also share the ‘Steve Nimmons Mind Map‘.

If you fancy a bit of introspection in terms of ‘how you tick’ give this technique a try. I went straight for the Tony Buzan Mind Mapping Tools, but of course there is an array of choice.
