About Steve Nimmons
Steve Nimmons is a senior Information Technologist and industry commentator, a Certified European Engineer (Eur Ing), Chartered Engineer (CEng), Chartered Fellow of the British Computer Society (FBCS CITP), Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), Institute for the Management of Information Systems (FIMIS), Institution of Analysts and Programmers (FIAP), Linnean Society of London (FLS), Society of Antiquaries of Scotland (FSA Scot), Freeman of London and Kentucky Colonel.
He was Commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel in 2009, awarded a Humanitarian Silver Medal by the Red Cross Society of Mongolia (2008), the Kentucky Colonel Medal of Distinction, 2009, and is a Member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, Rotary Club of London, Council of Christians and Jews (Chairman’s Circle), Worshipful Company of Information Technologists, BCS ELITE, Institution of Engineering and Technology, British Association for the Advancement of Science, Guild of Freemen of the City of London, Conservative Party and Ulster Unionist Party. Steve became an Honorary Citizen of North Carolina in 2010.
He is a Juror of the Court Leet of the Guildable Manor of Southwark, Fellow of the Zoological Society of London, (non-political) member of the National Liberal Club, a Knight of the Royal Confraternity of Sao Teotonio and member of the Military and Hospitaller Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem. He serves on a number of industry panels including the Conservative Technology Forum, ITC Technology Panel, ITC Government Panel and the ITC Ethics and Spiritual Development Panel. He is a ‘regular at Parliament’ and is a member of the Bow Group, Conservative Friends of Israel, CCJ and the Zionist Federation.
Steve is a charity trustee, a special advisor to a number of charities and is active in Rotary and inter faith dialogue. An innovator and thought leader he is a member of the Atos Origin Scientific Community.
He is a Life Patron of the London Parks Bowling Association and a member of the City Livery Yacht Club.
Key Interests
Design and delivery services in Social Computing, SOA and BPM with cross-industry focus. Steve is interested in technology journalism and is willing to provide insight / quotes / original articles (in appropriate circumstances).
Outside of the technology space: Economics, Philosophy, Theology, World Affairs, Philanthropy, Inter Faith Dialogue, Rotary International, Politics (Conservative / Unionist), Northern Ireland affairs, Political Journalism.
