Regular technical support for environmental charity, London - Based in north London this is the UK headquarters of an internationally known environmental campaigning organisation.
The IT department supports over 100 users and they are looking for a volunteer who can make a regular commitment to helping out. They have MS systems - Windows XP, Exchange server, etc. - and they are looking for someone to provide basic support. The role will involve setting up PCs, helping users, looking after their IT store and performing regular health checks of PCs. However, the volunteer may be able to get involved in other projects if he/she is interested and has the appropriate skills. The volunteer will report to the IT support officer and will work closely with her.
Ideally they would like the volunteer to be available two days per week but they are prepared to be flexible. They will pay travel expenses and provide lunch in their staff restaurant.
This is an unusual opportunity in that there will be a lot of support for the volunteer and might be of interest to inexperienced volunteers.
