Burma's emergency telecoms delay

SteveNimmons's picture

Burma's scandal continues with telecoms engineers now prevented from entering the country. Foreign aid (as has been widely publicised) is being prevented from reaching areas where it is direly needed to save lives. The Burmese military junta seems to fear that foreign assistance and presence might further upset their control over the country. The situation is an absolute disgrace.

Burns Lunch at Rotray Club of London

SteveNimmons's picture

I had the distinct pleasure of attending the Rotary Club of London's Burns Luncheon on Monday 28th. The event held at The Arts Club in Dover Street was extremely enjoyable and well supported. Traditional haggis was served and we were treated to the 'ritual' of piping in of the haggis, and a recitation of "Address to a Haggis" a poem by Burns.

I extend profound thanks to the members and officers of the club for a wonderful welcome, and congratulate the President for the marvellous organisation and makeup of his Rotary branch.
